From my perspective, painting is a long, slow, sticky, conversation about surface and subject, carried on between the living, the dead and the unborn. I am attracted to the challenges of painting, not unlike those of living—steady, intense observation, experimentation, expression.
I was born on an American military base in Iran and raised in the Rust Belt of Ohio. In my artwork, I hope to pose visual queries for the viewer—evoking deeper concerns about how we work and pose questions, as I investigate the expanding terrain of thought and will.
